What Is Grease and How Does It Work?

A grease is a lubricating base oil, enhanced with performance additives, held in place by a thickening fibre matrix.

Under pressure or load, the thickener releases oil to form a protective lubricating film between moving surfaces. When the pressure eases, the oil is reabsorbed into the thickener matrix.
